Here are the steps to get the automation scripts for your VM in Azure:
1. Log into the Azure portal at https://portal.azure.com
2. Click on "Virtual Machines"
3. A list of virtual machine instance will be displayed, I will choose the windows instance I created earlier. Obviously yours will look different depending on what you named your VM.
4. Under the "Settings" section select "Automation script"
5. As you can see there are scripts for different languages to perform automated tasks on your VM. You want to click on the "Download" button to get the scripts.
6. Once you downloaded the file and unzip it you should see the following files

That's a neat trick! I always wondered how to quickly grab those deployment scripts. Have you ever found them useful for recreating a VM in a different subscription? I used them once to troubleshoot a failed deployment in a test environment, which saved me a lot of time. It's a shame the article doesn't mention how much you can play with basket random while those scripts download.

ReplyDeleteIn today's digital age, social media has become an essential part of communication and information sharing. Platforms like Twitter allow users to quickly disseminate news and opinions, often referencing credible sources to support their claims. For example, a recent study highlighted the importance of fact-checking, noting that misinformation can spread rapidly if not properly addressed, as discussed in a report (see [2]). This emphasizes the need for responsible sharing and verification in online interactions.
